Some close calls on Saskatchewan roads have prompted the provincial government to make a new law regarding tow trucks and vehicles passing them.

Minister Responsible for SGI, Glenn Hagel explains. "Effective July 1st, drivers in Saskatchewan will be required to slow to 60 km/hr when they're passing tow trucks stopped in the side of the highway with their amber lights flashing. Working on the side of the highway makes tow truck operators vulnerable to passing traffic..."

Fines for passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks faster than 60 km/hr start at 140 dollars.
