Smile Cookie Week is back!

For a third year, 100 per cent of the proceeds from sales of the chocolate chunk cookies and cookie pins will be going to Heartland Hospice. The campaign is running at Moose Jaw’s three Tim Hortons locations from April 29 until May 5.

Sara Bryan, vice chair of Heartland Hospice, said they were incredibly grateful to be selected again this year. “It was so nice of the Howes. They reached out and they said, ‘you know, we know that you’re officially starting your groundbreaking and the work on the renovations this year, so we wanted to do it one last time to give you that extra financial boost going into it.’”

Heartland Hospice is set to begin construction of the hospice wing at 1000 Albert Street next Monday, May 6, with the organization having raised $820,809 towards their $1 million goal through donations.

Two previous Smile Cookie campaigns raised $71,654 for the hospice.

“We’re so appreciative of [The Howe family] and we’re so appreciative of the community, because we’ve had tremendous support from them in the past,” added Bryan.

You can pre-order boxes of cookies using this form here, and you can also get free delivery within Moose Jaw for orders of three dozen or more cookies.

If you purchase a minimum of six cookies, you don’t have to pay the taxes.

Smile Cookie pin characters this year include Starry, Squirmy, Bugsy, and Loopy.

People are encouraged to post pictures smiling along with their cookies on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #smilecookieMJ.
