The Moose Jaw Miller Express continues to extend its lead in the east division after doubling up the Swift Current 57s on Thursday 10-5 on the road. 

Nate Mensik went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs, while Dougie Delacruz had two hits, to go along with a double and three RBIs. 

Gabe Soto picked up his third win of the season pitching five innings, only giving up two runs and having a strikeout. 

Moose Jaw will return home tonight as they kick off a two-game series with the Lethbridge Bulls. The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. 

Continuing with baseball, a full lineup of games for three local teams. The 18U AA Canucks wrap up their regular season play on Saturday, as they welcome the Regina Pacers. Moose Jaw's 15U AAA Canucks will finish their regular season with a doubleheader on Saturday against the Saskatoon Brewers starting at 12:00 p.m. And the 18U AAA Canucks will finish off their season with three games against the Swift Current 57s. 

Local golfer Lorie Boyle competed in the Senior Women's 50+ Championship earlier this week. She would finish 5th with three rounds in the mid-80s. In the 60+ category, Boyle would finish in second - two strokes off the lead. 

In the Senior and Mid-Masters Men's Championship Todd Searcy of Moose Jaw would finish tied for 57th in the overall championship, but in the 55+ category would come in tied for 47th. 

Ken Bradley of the Hillcrest Golf Club would finish first in the 75+ category with a final score of +28. 

In the Mid Masters division, Derek Armour of the Hillcrest finished in 21st. You can find the full list of results HERE.

In CFL news, Gary Brandt who was born in Moose Jaw and went on to play 11 seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders passed away on Monday at the age of 80. He was inducted into the Roughriders Plaza of Honour in 2002. 

Continuing with the CFL, Winnipeg took down Edmonton last night 28-14. The Roughriders will travel to BC tomorrow to take on the Lion. Kick-off is at 5:00 p.m. MT.
