What a day on Thursday for Central Collegiate at the Moose Jaw high school track and field championships, as they walked away as city champions. Athletes across all age groups booked their spots in the South Central District championship set for next Wednesday at Gutheridge Field. 

Moose Jaw's 15U AA Canucks picked up a pair of wins this week. On Wednesday, they took down the Regina Expos 18-6, and then on Thursday night rolled to a 17-6 win over the White Butte Broncos. They will be back at home on Tuesday as they host the Lumsden Cubs. 

The 17U AA Ice will be heading to Calgary this long weekend for the Prairie League Softball tournament and open up the event on Saturday against the River City Hornets. 

Just a reminder that the MNP Moose Jaw Warriors Alumni Golf Tournament is fast approaching. The 12th annual tournament supporting the Warriors Education Fund will be held at the Hillcrest Golf Club on Friday, July 7. Registration details can be found HERE.

The Western Hockey League Final returns on Friday in the pacific northwest. The Seattle Thunderbirds could book their ticket to the Memorial Cup in Kamloops next week with a win tonight, as they hold a 3-1 series lead over the Winnipeg ICE. 

Over to the NHL, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final needed four overtimes but Florida was able to prevail 3-2 over the Carolina Hurricanes to take a 1-0 series lead. 

And the Toronto Blue Jays dropped a 4-2 decision to the Yankees on Thursday.
