It was a big weekend for the Moose Jaw Warriors. They swept a pivotal home-and-home series against the Swift Current Broncos. On Friday night in Swift Current, the Warriors picked up a 5-3 road win and followed that up the next night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre with a 4-3 win. The Warriors have now won five straight and 10 of their last 11 games. Next up is a home-and-home series with the Medicine Hat Tigers. The Warriors host the Tigers on Friday night at the Hangar, before heading to Medicine Hat on Saturday.

The Winmar AAA Warriors didn't have as good of a weekend. They dropped a 5-1 decision to the Tisdale Trojans on Friday night and lost 3-2 to the Saskatoon Contacts on Saturday. The AAA Warriors are back in action tonight in Saskatoon against the Blazers and tomorrow night in Swift Current against the Legionnaires.

Over to the Viterra Scotties Provincial Curling Championship, Moose Jaw's Skylar Ackerman will be representing Saskatchewan at the national Scottie Tournament of Hearts in Calgary from February 16 to 25. Ackerman, who was curling out of the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, defeated Nancy Martin 10-9 in an extra end to claim the provincial championship.

The Saskatchewan Rush were in action at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon in National Lacrosse League action on Saturday. The Rush gave up six unanswered goals in the fourth quarter in an 11-9 loss to the Vancouver Warriors. The Rush now head into a bye week.

In the NFL, the conference championships are set. The Kansas City Chief will face the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions take on the San Fransisco 49ers. The winners will head to the Super Bowl.

Finally, in the NHL last night, only two Canadian teams were in action. The Ottawa Senators picked up a 5-3 win over Philadelphia and the Toronto Maple Leafs were 3-1 victors over the Seattle Kraken.
