The Moose Jaw Warriors made one last roster move ahead of the regular season. The club sent Landen McFadden back down to the OHA Edmonton U18 Prep team after appearing in three preseason games for the Warriors.

This now brings the Warriors' roster down to 26 players including three goaltenders, seven defensemen and 16 forwards.

Moose Jaw opens the regular season on Friday in Prince Albert and hosts their home opener on Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Game time is 7 p.m. for both games. You can catch all the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo.

Three runners from Central Collegiate took part in the Queen City Half Marathon last Sunday in Regina. In the 19U category, Chloe Johns finished first, Katie Rogers was second and Lucy McLean finished fifth. Johns finished fourth out of 571 runners in the women's category and 43rd overall.

In junior boys' high school volleyball action, Peacock defeated Briercrest three sets to one, while Central downed Vanier in three straight sets.

The Moose Jaw High School Junior Girls Volleyball League gets underway tomorrow night with games starting at 6:20 p.m. Notre Dame, Rouleau, Central Gold and Peacock Orange will be playing at Peacock. Peacock Green, Central Red and Vanier will face off at Vanier and Central Butte, Avonlea, Cornerstone and Riverview will play at Riverview.

To the NFL and Monday Night Football, the New Orlean Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers 20-17 and the Pittsburgh Steelers downed the Cleveland Browns 26-22.

And in Major League Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays look to hold on to their American League wild card spot when they take on the New York Yankees tonight.
