Training camp is in the past and the focus now is on the pre-season and finalizing the roster. The Moose Jaw Warriors will practice this week in preparation for a home and home set with the Swift Current Broncos - Friday in Moose Jaw and Saturday in Swift Current. The Warriors made a trade on the weekend, getting a 10th-round draft pick from Edmonton for 18-year-old forward Luke Robson.

Moose Jaw's Central Cyclones got the new high school football season off to a great start. Cyclones running back Javin Boynton scored five touchdowns rushing for 201 yards on 15 carries in the 50-9 victory over the Colts in Swift Current. Peacock Tornadoes are also off to a great start - they beat the Estevan Elecs 56-8 and, in Yorkton, the Raiders whipped Moose Jaw's Vanier Vikings 63-0. All three local teams will play at Gutheridge Field in Moose Jaw this weekend.

The Lynbrook Golf Club had another Hole in One on Sunday. Tyson McFarlane aced Hole #5 using his 4 Hybrid, which was witnessed by Brad Legare and Marv Merkel.

In case you missed it, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat Saskatchewan 20-18 in the Labour Day Classic.

On Monday, Toronto beat Hamilton 28-8 and the Calgary Stampeders topped Edmonton 26-18. Toronto Blue Jays swept a double-header from Baltimore yesterday by scores of 7-3 and 8-4.
