Teachers across the province are on a second, one-day strike today, as negotiations for a new collective agreement between the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) have stalled.

The STF and provincial government last sat at the table for five days in December 2023 with assistance from a Conciliation Board. The conciliation process was unsuccessful in finding common ground between the two sides.

Teachers first went on strike for a single day on January 16th. They are expected back in the classroom tomorrow, and any further information on job action will be given with 48 hours’ notice.

Below you will find letters from the Directors of Education for the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division and the Prairie South School Division.

We will have more information as the situation progresses.
