The Moose Jaw Tennis Club wants to see more people getting involved with the sport.

The club will be offering free playing time the next three Saturdays (May 27, June 3, and June 10) from 1 pm to 5 pm.

"We're going to provide racquets for people that don't have them," explained President Bryce Warren. "We're going to have members there that can show people the basics about playing and how the tennis club works."

Warren says their membership is around 150 this year, which is similar to 2022.

"Right now it is more skewed to the older client but now we are doing more lessons with younger kids and we're also trying to bring in schools," he noted.

The Moose Jaw Tennis Club is located in Crescent Park and features five lit courts, which were resurfaced in 2022.

"It makes a big difference. Number one it's a new exciting colour, the blue on blue is nice," commented Warren. "The main thing is the playability is so much better. There's no cracking, there's no scratches, it looks nice. It will help us hopefully attract more tournaments as far as the Provincial Senior Open and just other tournaments which are good for revenue for the club."

The club offers several league options including Men's Singles and Doubles on Monday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Women's Doubles on Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and Round Robin play every weekday morning from 10 am to 11:30 pm.
