The criminal trial of Tannis Brideau began today at Moose Jaw's provincial courthouse.

Charges have been laid by the Crown, with prosecutors alleging that Brideau engaged in mischief, causing a disturbance, and criminal harassment.

Witnesses appearing for the Crown including former and current employees of Discover Moose Jaw/Golden West Broadcasting and Prairie South School Division.

Brideau has elected to represent herself in her defense. She has said her repeated, unwanted contact (in-person, over the phone, and by email) with staff at Golden West and Prairie South were necessary because the two organizations were actively complicit in spreading dangerous COVID falsehoods related to vaccines, public health, and government overreach.

[Editorial note: This reporter has never had any contact with Tannis Brideau and was not an employee of Golden West at the time of the incidents in question.]
