The unemployment rate in the Swift Current-Moose Jaw economic region rose in April to 4 per cent, up from 3.8 per cent in March.

Full time jobs dropped from 41,500 in March to 41,200 in April.

Saskatchewan's unemployment rate was up to 5.1 per cent from 4.8 in March.

The numbers are unadjusted for seasonality

Stats Canada says 41,400 jobs were added across the country in April, all in part-time work.

The unemployment rate has been at 5 per cent since December, a near record low.
