It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend here in Moose Jaw. Here is a list of eight things you can do. 

Little Chicago Show and Shine, Saturday 

The Downtown Moose Jaw Association is holding its second annual Little Chicago Show and Shine on Main Street from Caribou Street to Manitoba Street.  

This year will feature 400 vehicles on display from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

The city will be putting up no-parking signs tonight as a reminder, with barricades going up Saturday morning at 6 a.m. 

Salvation Army Toy Run, Saturday 

If you happen to be at the show and shine, stick around for the Moose Jaw Motorcycle Association’s annual Salvation Army Toy Run. 

The Toy Run starts at 2 p.m. sharp. Motorcyclists will need at the bottom of the Fourth Avenue Bridge and cruise up Main Street to the Salvation Army church to donate toys. 

Shriners car show, cruise and car raffle, Saturday 

Right after the Little Chicago Show and Shine, head on down to Murray GM for the Moose Jaw Shriners car show, cruise night and car raffle. 

The car show gets underway at 5 p.m. with the cruise night starting at 6. There will also be live music and entertainment. 

At 9:15 p.m., the Shrine Club will be raffling off a 1998 Corvette Dayton Pace Car. 

Free Admission Day at the Western Development Museum, Saturday 

Admission will be free on Saturday for the Western Development Museum sponsored by BMO. You can come explore the exhibits at the museum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Don’t miss out as this is the final free admission day at the Western Development Museum for 2023. 

Moose Jaw Warriors pre-season hockey, Saturday 

The Moose Jaw Warriors return home for a pre-season game against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Puck drop is 7 p.m. 

For those who can’t make it to the rink, you can catch all of the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo. 

Moose Jaw opens their regular season next Friday in Prince Albert. 

Canadian Ranch Roping Association Finals, Saturday and Sunday 

Some of the top ranch ropers in the country will be at the Golden Mile Arena on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds for the Canadian Ranch Roping Association Finals. 

The action gets underway at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. 

Terry Fox Run, Sunday 

The 43rd annual Terry Fox Run is taking place on Sunday starting at the Vanier Collegiate football field.  

In-person registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the run beginning at 11 a.m. Participants can also register online before the event. 

There are several race lengths available for participants including a 400 metre option (walking track), 5 km and 10 km. Families are encouraged to bring the little ones out, as there will be an inflatable obstacle course, outdoor lawn games, and face painting. Those looking to grab a bite to eat can purchase a hot dog for a donation. 

All of the proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research. 

Co-op Kids Carnival, Sunday 

A kids’ carnival will be taking place at the Moose Jaw Co-op Food Store parking lot on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. 

It will be an afternoon of games and entertainment, with a hotdog barbecue, cotton candy, mini-donuts and popcorn. It will be entertainment affordable for the whole family.
