Homestand '23 - Saturday

River Street Promotions presents Homestand '23!

Doors open for Homestand '23 at Ross Well Ball Park at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The day will begin with the screening of the Banjo Bowl between the 6-5 Saskatchewan Roughriders and the 9-3 Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 2 p.m.

Headerliner Corb Lund will be joined tomorrow night by roots soul songwriter Lindi Ortega, folk rocker Mike Plume, and country artist Jordyn Pollard, who begins the musical portion of the evening at 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds from Homestand '23 will support mental health and wellness initiatives in the Prairie South School Division, Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, and the beautification of Ross Wells Ball Park.

Tickets are still available for Homestand '23. The cost is $65 for the entire day and free for children 12 and under with an adult ticket. Tickets can be purchased at sasktix.ca or riverstreetpromotions.com.

Sukanen Ship Threshing Bee - Saturday and Sunday

The Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum will take you back in time with its annual Threshing Bee on Saturday and Sunday.

The threshing bee will include plowing, threshing, rope making, and blacksmithing with vintage equipment. 

There will be daily vintage tractor pulls and a highlight each year is the antique tractor and car parade. 

Doors open each day at 8 a.m. with a cash-only pancake breakfast and concession. 

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children six to 12. Two-day passes are also available for $16. 

800 CHAB will be live on location Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to Noon.

Touch-A-Truck - Saturday

Touch-A-Truck is returning to the Moose Jaw Events Centre on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., where kids of all ages will be able to come out and get up close and personal with some mighty machines. 

Nearing the end of the event there will be a sensory-sensitive time from 2:30-3:00 p.m., where the sirens, horns, and lights will all be turned off to allow for more of a quieter time for parents and kids. 

The event is being put on in partnership with the Moose Jaw Early Years Family Resource Centre, the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce, Literacy Network Moose Jaw, OVG 360, and the Moose Jaw Public Library

Girl Guides Garage Sale - Saturday

The Moose Jaw Girl Guides are hosting a garage sale on Saturday, September 9th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Galaxy Cinema doors at the Town 'N' Country Mall.

Moose Jaw Warriors Pre-Season Game - Saturday

The Moose Jaw Warriors hit the ice looking for their first win of the pre-season on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Southland Co-op Centre in Assiniboia against the Swift Current Broncos. The game is officially sold out. The Warriors fell to the Broncos 7-2 earlier this week.

Starting on Friday, September 15 you can stream the Moose Jaw Warriors' games on Country 100.

The regular season begins September 22 on the road in Price Albert. The Warriors' home opener is scheduled for September 23 against Brandon.

Fred Fox at Wakamow Farmers Market - Saturday

Fred Fox, the brother of the late Terry Fox, will be at the Terry Fox booth at the Wakamow Farmers Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Terry Fox Run at Vanier Collegiate is set for next weekend, September 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.

Farmers Markets - Saturday

And speaking of Farmers Markets... this is the final weekend to enjoy the Wakamow Farmers Market which runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kiwanis Pavillion in Wakamow Valley.

The Homegrown Farmers Market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Langdon Crescent with their final day on Thanksgiving weekend. 

Garage Sales - Saturday and Sunday
