Holly and Todd Beattie accept their $100,000 cheque from Jim Williams (L) and George Dodd of the Fort Knox hockey club

When Moose Jaw's Bryton Beattie got traded last November, who thought the trade might work out better for his family then for him?  November 11, 2013, 18-year old Bryton was traded from the Assiniboia Southern Rebels to Fort Knox (based in Fort Qu'appelle) of the Prairie Junior Hockey League.  If the trade doesn't happen, what are the odds Bryton's family still buys tickets for the Fort Knox 'Gold Rush" Lotto?  March 12 the Southern Rebels knocked Fort Knox, and Bryton, out of the playoffs.  Five days later Bryton's parents' ticket #1880 was pulled as the grand prize winner.  They had several choices to make, including a Mack truck, half-tons, boats, quads, and even gold.  The Beatties took the cash - $100,000.00!  The winning ticket was a family affair, as 14 family members all shared in the jackpot. Holly Beattie spoke

to CHAB's Craig Hemingway about their good fortune.

Bryton Beattie was named a PJHL All-Star Defenceman this season
