The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 is hosting a few different community events throughout the month of March.

The first event is their St. Patrick’s Day Irish Stew Supper.

Roy LaBuick is with the Legion and talked about what people can expect at the event.

“It’s a delicious traditional beef Irish stew served with mashed potatoes, bread, and mini whiskey cake with a sweet sticky drizzle.”

The supper is on Friday, March 17. Cocktails are served at 5:30 and supper starts at 6.

Gary Kincaid will also be performing live music at 7 pm.

Tickets are $17 each and are available at the bar or Legion office.

The second event is a free lunch as part of their first-ever Saskatchewan Veterans Roundtable discussion.

“We have two members of Parliament that will be there [who] both sit on the Veteran Affairs Committee for the Government of Canada, and they would like to hear your concerns, your comments, [and] your questions, about Veterans Affairs,” explains LaBuick.

Moose Jaw - Lake Centre- Lanigan's Fraser Tolmie will be one of the Members of Parliament (MP) in attendance at the roundtable this weekend.

The discussion is on Saturday, March 18, from 10 am to 1 pm.

Lunch is free for all Veterans, ANAVETS, and Legion volunteers.

“Everybody is welcome to attend, whether you’re a member of the Legion or not,” LaBuick added.

The last event is a recurring bingo night, every Monday, starting at 6 pm.

“We’d like to invite everybody,” says LaBuick. “Members, non-members, anybody in the community, if you’d like to come play bingo, even if you’ve never played bingo before, come on down and give it a try. It’s a lot of fun, and I think you’ll have a really good time!”

Participants have the chance to win cash prizes.

Food and canteen are available, as well.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 is located at 268 High St. W.
