Joe from Idaho. That's got a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
Joe sent us a message this week to let us know that he tuned into 800 CHAB on his AM radio in Arimo, Idaho. That's about 1400 kilometers away. It's down by the Utah border, just north of Salt Lake City, in fact.
It happens once-in-a-while and we love to hear about it when it does. Science tells us AM signals can travel hundreds of kilometers by reflection from the ionosphere, a phenomenon called skywave propagation.
Joe was out working on his tractor when he picked us up. He liked the rock 'n roll so much he took the time to find us online and now he listens to us in the house.
They've been telling us for over two decades now that AM radio is on its way out.
We're not going to let that happen, are we?
We need to be here for each other...and for Joe from Arimo, Idaho.
