The City of Moose Jaw has received permission to release treated effluent into the Moose Jaw River starting September 1st.

The City of Moose Jaw has started the work to release treated effluent into the local Moose Jaw River.

The very mention of the word effluent makes some people cringe at what the material could do to the river but City Engineer Ryan Johnson assures us there is nothing to worry about. "This has gone through the whole system where basically the effluent is as clean or cleaner that the actually river that its going into."

The effluent will begin to flow September 1st to ensure adequate room for winter storage at the City's lagoons.
