Vanier Collegiate’s grade 12 students are pleased to invite the public to their second annual Christmas dinner this weekend.

“Our grade 12’s have been working really hard to put this on for the community and their school,” says Jessica Cripps, an English and Catholic Studies teacher at Vanier. “I think it would be a great opportunity for families to come and witness what youth can do when they work together, and especially in sharing the joy of Christmas.”

The dinner is taking place on Saturday, November 26, at Vanier Collegiate. The first seating is at 4:30 pm and the second seating is at 7:30 pm.

“We have a full turkey dinner with all the fixings,” says Cripps. “[The students also] made a gingerbread cake for dessert, as well.”

Tickets are only $10 and can be bought by contacting the Vanier front office over the phone, or in person at Vanier Collegiate.

“We’ll have Santa there as well,” added Cripps. “Our students put together arts and crafts for kids, and there is a raffle too... We [also] have a group of students working together to put on Christmas-themed skits, kind of a resemblance of [NBC’s] Saturday Night Live. We also have students performing with instruments and singing Christmas songs.”

All are welcome to attend, and formal attire is not necessary.
