Moose Jaw residents are being advised that steam blows will continue at SaskPower’s Great Plains Power Station on Monday.

This is an extension of the steam blowing that took place at the beginning of March. This process is to clean out the steam lines to remove any debris within the system. The work is expected to be ongoing 24/7 throughout April.

Saskpower says the noise level will be about 85 decibels, which is comparable to traffic in the downtown core. Silencers will be used to limit the noise, but residents in the area could hear the add blast or continuous sound while the process is being completed. Plumes of steam may also be visible from the power station.
