The Industrial Development Company will stay as it is in the City of Moose Jaw.

That was the motion passed at City Hall Monday night as Executive Committee discussed a report questioning the need for the IDC. A company that approves loans for up and coming companies like the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa 10 years ago.

Councilor Jim Carr has been involved with the IDC for most of his career. "The city cannot as a city directly loan money to a corporation for economic development, but an arms length corporation like IDC, even though it only has one shareholder being the City of Moose Jaw, can."

For that reason, Council passes a motion to keep the IDC the way it is.

Past projects that have received funding from the IDC included the spa, Phillips Cable, and the CanaDays Apparel operation.
