It was a tough weekend for the Moose Jaw Miller Express in Western Canadian Baseball League action over the weekend as they dropped two of three games.

On Friday night, the Miller Express were in Swift Current and dropped a 5-1 decision to the 57s. Moose Jaw's lone run came at the top of the sixth inning.

Cameron Dunn took the loss on the mound, going five innings and gave up two runs off of two hits, three walks and five strikeouts.

Moose Jaw returned the favour on Saturday night in hosting the 57s at Ross Wells Park and picked up an 8-4 win.

The Miller Express jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning. Swift Current took over the lead with four runs in the top of the sixth, In the bottom of the sixth inning, Moose Jaw replied with two runs to go ahead 5-4.

Moose Jaw drove in three more runs in the bottom of the seventh to make the final 8-4. Austin Gurney had a strong night at the plate, going two-for-four with three RBIs. Nate Mensik also went two-for-four with one RBI.

Ethan Merk picked up the win on the mound. He went six innings and gave up four runs on two hits and struck out three.

The Miller Express rounded out the weekend on Sunday afternoon in Saskatoon against the Berries and fell 5-4 in extra innings.

Gurney was two-for-five at the plate with a pair of RBIs. Ty Thomson took the loss on the mound.

The Miller Express are back in action on Tuesday night when they head to Weyburn to face the Beavers.
