The Moose Jaw Miller Express picked up a 5-4 win in their first meeting with the Saskatoon Berries on Tuesday night at Ross Wells Park. 

Moose Jaw went up 3-0 after two innings of play before Saskatoon got on the board in the top of the third. 

Owen Robbins scored on a Garrett Dennis double in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-1 in favour of the Miller Express. Saskatoon would then pull within one with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. 

Austin Gurney would drive in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. His single scored Thomas Soto to make it 5-3. 

Saskatoon came back with one run in the top of the ninth but couldn’t find the equalizer. 

Nathan Houston went five for five at the plate with an RBI. Dennis was three for our with an RBI. Elijah Bear only batted one for five but had two RBIs. 

On the mound, Matt Vasquez picked up the win and Takao Cookson got the save. 

The Miller Express wrap up their two-game homestand against the Berries on Wednesday night at Ross Wells Park starting at 7 p.m.
