The unemployment rate in the Swift Current-Moose Jaw Economic Region rose slightly in December 2022 to 3.5 per cent, up from 3.3 per cent in November. The rate was 6.3 per cent in December of 2021.

Statistics Canada's Labour Force Survey released Friday says there were 1,900 people looking for work in the region last month compared to 1,800 in November.

The Saskatoon-Biggar Economic Region had the lowest unemployment rate in the province in December 2022 at 3.4 per cent.

Saskatchewan's unemployment rate was 3.7 per cent.

The numbers were unadjusted for seasonality.
