Visitation at the Union Hospital has been limited due to the outbreak of the stomach ailment in Moose Jaw.

Feeling down lately? A little sick to your stomach? Well, it might be something other than the flu.

It has been a few weeks and it might be another 2 or 3 weeks.

The Norwalk Virus still making it's way through our community. It's a nasty stomach ailment that comes complete with aches and pains, fever and diarrhea.

Cheryl Craig is our Executive Director of Clinical Services for the Five Hills Health Region and says they are taking precautions at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. All visitors are being asked to wash their hands when entering and exiting the facility and hospital visitors are being limited.

"Keeping with meeting the needs of both our patients safety as well as our employees safety, we’ve asked for visitors to minimize the numbers at any given time and also to adhere to good hand hygiene."

Craig says the Norwalk Virus has shown up in local long-term care facilities, personal care homes, in schools and in the general population.
