We will not be getting as much funding as once thought for the upgrade to the airport so City Hall will just have to do what they can with what they've got.

It looks like work will not be going ahead as planned on the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport.

City Engineer Ryan Johnson has told us the provincial government did not come through with funding as planned.

"Unofficially we've been informed by Sask. Highways that we will not be getting the $200,000 that we had applied for this year. We may be getting around $25,000 which is still a benefit but we were looking for more money and we can apply for next year."

So that means the airport runway will not be recapped. Instead the cracks will be repaired and we'll just have to hope that it lasts until more funding can be found.
