Its gearing up to be a busy weekend at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

We are closing in on the first ever National Lacrosse League game to be played in Southern Saskatchewan when the Saskatchewan Rush will host the Calgary Roughnecks in a pre-season game at the Moose Jaw Events Centre tomorrow. The ball drops a 7 p.m. There are still a few tickets available at sasktix.ca. On Thursday, the Rush named Ryan Keenan the team's third captain since moving to Saskatchewan in 2016.

The Moose Jaw Warriors return to home ice tonight when they host the Swift Current Broncos at the Hangar. The Warriors are coming off a big 7-3 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings last weekend. Game time is 7 p.m. you can catch all the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo. The Warriors then head to Prince Albert on Saturday to face the Raiders.

Elsewhere in the WHL, the league announced that Swift Current Broncos head coach Devan Praught has been suspended five games for violating the league's Standards of Conduct. Praught has already served three of the five games.

The Winmar AAA warriors are back in action when the head up to Prince Albert to face the Mintos tonight and saturday afternoon.

In high school volleyball action, Cornerstone Christian School will be competing in the 2A boys provincials this weekend, while Central will be competing for the 4A provincial title.

The Moose Jaw Curling Centre is hosting the U15 triple and U18 curling bonspiels this weekend. Admission is free for spectators.

And finally, three games in the NFL last night, the Green Bay Packers downed the Detriot Lions 29 to 22, the Dallas Cowboys won 45 to 10 over the Washington Commanders and the San Fransisco 49ers defeated the Seattle Seahawk 31 to 13.
