The Central Cyclones senior boys volleyball team claimed their first city championship since 2016 last night, beating Assiniboia in three straight sets (25-15, 25-13, 25-19) at Sask Polytech. Central will be competing in the 4A boys regionals this weekend in Lumsden, while Assiniboia will take part in the 3A regional playdown as the host team.

The Moose Jaw Warriors return to the ice Friday night in Saskatoon looking to make it two wins in a row over the Blades. The Warriors are coming off a 9-6 win over Saskatoon on Tuesday. Moose Jaw will then host the Edmonton Oil Kings in the annual Hockey Fights Cancer game Saturday night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Moose Jaw is tied for third spot in the Eastern Conference, one point back of Saskatoon.

Last night in the WHL, Edmonton outscored Regina 6-1, Wenatchee beat Tri-City 5-2, Vancouver defeated Prince George 6-1, and Everett got by Prince Albert 4-3.

Four games in the NHL last night. Evander Kane had a hat trick, including the overtime winner, as the Edmonton Oilers beat Seattle 4-3. Elsewhere Vancouver got by the New York Islanders 4-3 in overtime, Colorado outscored Anaheim 8-2, and it was Philidelphia beating Carolina 3-1.

The Western Canadian Baseball League has unveiled its schedule for the 2024 season. The Moose Jaw Miller Express will open the season May 24 in Weyburn. Moose Jaw's first home game is May 25 against Medicine Hat.

In the NBA, the Toronto Raptors dropped a 128-112 decision to Milwaukee.
