The Moose Jaw Warriors were back on the practice ice in what will be an exciting week for the team as they head to the Memorial Cup in Saginaw, Michigan. Moose Jaw opens the national championship tournament on Friday evening against the host Saginaw Spirit. Puck drop is 5:30 p.m. our time. You can catch all of the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo. The tournament will also feature the OHL Champion London Knights and the QMJHL champion Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Baseball season is upon us. The Moose Jaw Miller Express open their WCBL season in Weyburn to face the Beavers on Friday night. The Miller Express home opener is Saturday against Medicine Hat at 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.

The Moose Jaw AAA 18U Canucks had a busy long weekend, going 2 and 2.

Elsewhere in minor baseball, the Moose Jaw AA 18U Canucks were on the road to face the Assinboia Aces and lost 12-5.  The AA U15 Canucks picked up a pair of wins and a tie on the weekend. 

In girls fastball, the U13 A Ice went 4-0 over the weekend. 

Ramber Park men's fastball kicks off their season at 7 p.m. with the Canadians taking on the Giants at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field.

CFL preseason action kicked off yesterday with the Saskatchewan Roughriders defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 25-12.

And finally, in the NHL only one Canadian team is left standing. The Edmonton Oilers held off a third-period charge from the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 3-2 to advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars.
