The Lynbrook Golf Club hosted 65 golfers for the annual Canada Day Tournament on Saturday.

Bill McLean won the men’s first flight with a score of 75. He edged out Steve Cameron via retrogression.

The men’s first flight low net went to John Striton with a score of 66, which was one better than Jim Swaok, who shot a 67.

In the men’s second flight, Ed Bekar topped Mitch Czarnecki via retrogression after they both shot an 81. The low net in that flight was won by Marv Maier with a 65, which was four shots lower than Scott McGregor’s 69.

Ken Jattansingh won the men’s third flight with an 81. Gord Miller came in second, four shots behind. The third flight’s low net winner was Don McDonald with a 66, that beat Dave Morrell by two shots.

The fourth flight was won by Alex Cameron via retrogression with a 93. He edged out Marv Schaitel with a stronger back-nine. Russ Nelson took the low net in the fourth flight with a 67, which was two shots better than Gerry Palmer.

There was a $10,000 cash prize for a hole-in-one, sponsored by Gordon Fine Foods and the Jolly Grant Pub in Willow Bunch, but nobody was lucky enough to drain an ace on the day.
