WCMA Announcement Expected Soon

Its just a few weeks until we find out if Moose Jaw will be hosting the 2007 Western Canadian Music Awards.

One of the biggest events in Canadian music is considering holding the annual awards show in Moose Jaw and that could mean a lot to our city.

Moose Jaw Host Committee Chair Wayne Gamble is excited to find out if we get the awards show. "It would mean that from Wednesday through Sunday in the third week of October 2007, virtually every hotel room in town would be sold out and we would have artists doing showcases at about 8 or 9 or 10 different venues around town, there would be very recognizable faces from the entertainment industry in western Canada here in town."

Gamble is expecting to hear from the WCMA committee in the next few weeks whether or not Moose Jaw will host the awards next year.
