The Western Hockey League announced today WHL Official Ryan Lundquist has been honoured with the WHL Milestone Award. Lundquist was recognized by Kevin Muench, WHL Senior Director, Officiating, in a special ceremony prior to Thursday’s game between the Brandon Wheat Kings and Moose Jaw Warriors.

The WHL Milestone Award is presented to WHL players, coaches, trainers, officials, and WHL Championship teams for their outstanding achievements.

“On behalf of the WHL and our member Clubs, we would like to congratulate Ryan on receiving this prestigious WHL Milestone Award,” commented WHL Commissioner Dan Near. “Being an official requires a deep commitment to the WHL and we thank Ryan for his outstanding service to the League over the past 18 seasons.”

A product of Lloydminster, Sask., Lundquist is in his 18th season in the WHL. His WHL career began during the 2006-07 season and since then he has worked more than 400 WHL Regular Season games and seven WHL Conference Championships.

Lundquist was also part of the officiating crews for the 2019 WHL Prairie Classic in Regina, three CHL Canada Russia Series games, four Canadian national championships and one international championship.

With his wife, Tricia, and their children, Benson and Kynlee, Lundquist has called Moose Jaw home for the past seven years.
