The Moose Jaw Warriors have announced the signing of 19-year-old forward Dakota MacIntosh to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

“We’re excited that Dakota has decided to join the Warriors,” Warriors general manager Jason Ripplinger said.

“Dakota is a potential impact, top-six forward that brings size and a strong skating ability to our team.”

MacIntosh has had an incredible start to his season with the Blackfalds Bulldogs in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The six-foot-two, 190-pound forward has posted 19 goals and 34 points in 17 games, which both lead the AJHL.

MacIntosh is currently riding a nine-game goal streak with 17 goals over that stretch and a 12-game point streak with 30 points.

“We want to thank Blackfalds for their cooperation in accommodating Dakota in joining the Warriors,” Ripplinger said.

Last season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the British Columbia Hockey League, MacIntosh finished with 17 goals and 38 points in 31 games.

In 19 playoff games, he added 11 goals and 24 points, which was third in post-season scoring, while helping the Bulldogs into the BCHL Championship final.

MacIntosh was originally drafted by the Warriors in the ninth round, 192nd overall, in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.

He’s expected to join the Warriors on the team’s two-game Alberta road trip this weekend and make his debut on Friday night in Edmonton.
