Roughriders expect to see their new General Manager arrive by the end of the week.

Fans have been calling for his head for months and Monday, Saskatchewan Roughriders General Manager Roy Shivers was fired by the CFL club.

Shivers was brought in by the Riders board of directors in 1999 to bring glory back to an ailing club. During his time in Saskatchewan Shivers posted a losing record of 52-64-1. Shivers is the third longest serving GM in Riders history behind Ken Preston of 21 years and Al Ford of 11 years.

While no new GM has been announced a new face is expected by the end of the week.
