Moose Jaw now stands 1-3-2 on the season after beating the Kootnay Ice 5-2 at the Civic Centre Wednesday night.

The Moose Jaw Warriors put a stop to their winless streak to start the season Wednesday night as they laid a lickin' on the Kootnay Ice at the Civic Centre.

Riley Holzapfel and Jordan Knackstedt both had two points, including a goal each, on the night. We saw an offensive explosion in the first period that led to a 4-0 Warriors lead by the first intermission.

Association Coach Rene Lemier says that was the break out game they were looking for from their top line.

"They demonstrated in the first period the quality that they have offensively. The one thing that we were on their case about was the fact they were always looking for the pretty play instead of getting more shots on net. If its there, take it but if its not there then get it towards the front of the net."

Keith Voytechek, Riley Grantham, and Neal Prokop also scored for the Warriors while Joey Perricone made 27 saves in the win.

Moose Jaw is back on the ice Friday night as they make the trip to Prince Albert to start off a very busy schedule that includes home games Saturday and Sunday.
